There is a space between the inhale and the exhale. There's also a space between the exhale and the inhale. We may not even notice them.

There's a space between when they finish talking and we begin. There's a moment in time between the thought and the spoken word. It's hardly distinguishable...or is it? There's a space between two faces looking into each other's eyes. There's a space between molecular particles. Quantum physicists are wrestling with the idea, and coming close to proving it, that space is all there is.

IBM produced a brilliant video twenty years ago called The Power of Ten. If you watch the whole thing (it's nine minutes) you will feel a distinct shift in your perspective of spaces in between. It's really when they come back and go inside the picnicker's hand that the magic begins.

EXPERIMENT: Just for the next 24 hours, give as much of your attention as you can to the spaces between. What happens when you focus on them? Anything? How do they feel?
