WHAT'S YOUR GUT SAYING?
That question is more valid than anyone knew until recently. Ever have a "gut feeling"? Turns out it's worth paying attention to...maybe.
How DO we tell the difference between our intuition and a projection from some belief we hold?
Well, the Buddhists say that "confusion and paradox guard the gates to truth." So, let's get confused on purpose, find some paradoxes, and see what happens.
Scientists hav discovered that our gut has its own brain. This New York Times Health Science article, "A brain in our head, and one in our gut" presents some interesting questions.
I think most of us would have to admit that our gut has been wrong on occasion. But we'd also have to admit that maybe at least once we ignored our gut, went with our head, and it didn't turn out so well.
Wasn't enough to have one brain to deal with? Really?
EXPERIMENT: Just for 24 hours, try to notice if the brain in your head and the brain in your gut match. Are they arguing with each other? Which one do you favor? No right or wrong, just discovering you.
